Pinot Noir (in Germany known as Spätburgunder) from the “Nussdorfer Bischofskreuz” site comes from roughly ffteen year old vines which are rooted in sandy clay soil. The use of chemicals in the vineyard is kept to a minimum and insecticides are not used. An ecological nutrient cycle is attained using green manure.

Il Gruccione (The Bee-eater) is possibly the wine that best represents the essence of Nunzio Ghiraldi's wines and of their interpretaion of Lugana, starting from the interaction between the local terroir and the Turbiana grape varietal.
100% Turbiana grapes, carefully selected in the vineyard, picked rigorously by hand and pressed whole. The yield per hectare is kept below 9 tonnes and only the free-run just is used, giving the wine elegance and great typicity, together with the ability to mature gracefully for years.
The nose exhibits fine and elegant citrus and mature fruit nuances; the bouquet is completed by thyme and sage aromas. The finish has almond nuances and spicy hints that complete its character.

This is a marriage made in heaven! It is made from a field blend of Argentina’s most iconic and widely planted varietals. Though these grapes mature at different times, the Malbec three weeks before the Bonarda, we harvest both together (the Malbec ten days later than typical, the Bonarda ten days early). Planted in alternating rows, the Malbec brings luscious sweetness while the Bonarda provides firm acidity. This 1946 vineyard blend was designed with this in mind, even though it took us many years before we realized what our predecessors were aiming to achieve.
Smoke, blueberries and deep structured fruits fill the nose. The palate is full bodied with crunchy black cherry, currants and toasty oak flavours.

A limited harvest of 5-7 tons per hectare from this excellent site for Saperavi, Kisiskhevi. Whole bunches are hand selected before being placed into underground qvevri, where fermentation takes place for 7-9 days with selected yeasts - being underground, the qvevri maintains the perfect temeperature at all times. Due to the size of the qvevri, production is limited to 6500 bottles only. Once fermentation is complete, the grape skins are removed and the wine spends further time maturing in the qvevri before bottling.
Kisiskhevi is a superb terroir within the wider Kakheti region, particularly for Saperavi. The best grapes are selected for fermentation in Qvevri, resulting in a deep coloured and structured wine that is still remarkably approachable due to its vibrant primary fruit and roasted nut aromas.

In 1989, Paul Hobbs visited Mendoza for the first time. Driving over the Andes from Chile with his longstanding friend Jorge Catena, brother of the famous Nicolas Catena, he fell in love with the place, the people, but also with the potential to make great wine.
He began experimenting with wild fermented Chardonnay and then with the variety that would become Argentina's calling card - Malbec. His first 10 barrel vintage of Malbec persuaded the American press of the potential of this grape. Paul established his own winery, Viña Cobos, in 1999 and 20 years later, Paul continues to makes wines that are authentic expressions of the terroir from which they come. In an exploration of the different terroirs across Mendoza Paul looks for the most distinguished regions in Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco to produce wines that uniquely express their origins. The winery’s elegant and balanced wines are a result of meticulous vineyard farming and utmost respect for terroir.
