I must admit that since discovering this two or three months ago rather too many bottles may have found themselves going home with me. It’s from our old friends Familia Falasco, producers of the Los Haroldos range amongst a number of others and it’s a measure as to how far Argentinian whites have come in recent years. A blend of 50% Viognier, 30% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Torrontes it’s pleasantly aromatic without being over the top. Really well balanced with bright acidity but also a lovely weight on the palate after several months of lees ageing

The grapes are sorted, de-stemmed and crushed. Fermentation process started with juice still on the grape skins, whereafter the wine was left on the grape skins for a further 6 months. The clear wine was then racked, blended and bottled. Intense savoury nose with notes of dried citrus peel, marmalade, brown spice and almond skin. Full flavoured and textural on the palate with flavours of apricot kernel and fruit peel followed by a fine bitter orange finish.
