Glenmorangie Lasanta

January 12, 2012

The name 'Lasanta' is taken from the Gaelic for passion and warmth, both perfect adjectives for this bottling of Glenmorangie with its depth and aromas of warm spice. After an initial maturation period in old bourbon casks the whisky is transferred for a two year period of 'extra-maturation'  in Oloroso sherry butts resulting in beautifully integrated sweet sherry characteristics. The nose has cinnamon spice, honeycomb and caramel and the sherry-like raisin flavours are overlaid with hints of smooth chocolate. The palate is complex with butterscotch, orange and walnuts all detectable amidst the spice and dried fruit. A rich and delicious Malt.

The Glenmorangie Lasanta will be available to taste at our forthcoming Burns' Night Whisky Tasting on 25th January. Tickets £15 available from 0121 236 9269.
