La Despensa Wines from Chile’s Colchagua Valley is owned, organically-farmed and operated by Matt Ridgway, originally from Dorset, and his Chilean wife Ana
Grenache and Syrah harvested together and co-fermented in concrete with native yeast. Pulp and skins from Roussanne which was harvested for a straight white wine 10 days earlier (also co-fermented). Mourvèdre comes in 2.5 weeks later and with much lower Brix so we leave some Grenache and Syrah hanging to over-ripen and co-ferment with the Mourvèdre. This helps reduce the green notes that Mourvèdre can sometimes produce. The blend is made as soon as all the wine is pressed. Aged in concrete (lined, so neutral).
Fresh and easy drinking with the acidity and tannins to help the wine age over the years to come. Drink now or hold your peace for 5+ years! Grenache provides the fruit-forward part of the wine and also some grippy tannins, with Syrah adding structure and color. Mourvèdre adds elegance and finesse, and the Roussanne helps add some roundness and mouthfeel alongside a slightly tropical kick.

Hand-picked grapes. Open-top bin fermentation with native yeasts. 14 days from picking to pressing, no extended maceration. Some fairly typical savoury notes of tomato and sour cherry, but counter-balanced by the fruit-forward nature of the style of wines we produce. Tannins and acidity will help the wine age gracefully for several years or it can be enjoyed immediately.
£14.49
This intense red Tannat with violet hues has a leathery, blackberry jam bouquet that slowly reveals itself once the wine is served. The typical tannins of the variety, rounded by its time aged in barrels, are present, but smooth and well-rounded.

Bodega Bresesti was founded in 1937 by immigrants from the Northern Italian region of Lombardy. Bruno Bresesti, still only in his thirties, is the fourth generation of the family to head up winemaking. This is very much a family affair with Bruno as the driving force but still aided by and benefitting from the experience of his hardworking parents. The winery, with its 15 underground concrete fermentation vats, is located on the outskirts of Montevideo
A cross of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat, this is intense purplish-red colour. The nose is fresh, with aromas of mint, blueberries, red fruits and spices and leads to a succulent palate with rich, sweet fruit balanced by firm ripe tannins. A rich wine enlivened by the refreshing acidity of this singular grape . Fermentation in concretes tank with subsequent passage through 80% American oak and 20% French oak for 3 or 4 months, subject to tasting.
£20.95
Fresh plums, violets, blueberry, crushed-stone and mineral aromas on the nose lead to a fresh and brightly fruited, full-bodied palate with firm, silky tannins.
£19.45
Yellow with a greenish sheen. The aromas on the nose offer a complex but subtle perfume of orange blossom, nutmeg and dried orange peel. Dry and refreshing in the mouth, with a pleasing texture – a fine, fresh line of mineral acidity here reinvigorates the palate and invites a second sip.

This is a wine with delicate fruity aromas, typical notes of white flowers, some herbal notes and tropical fruits. Its freshness reminds of just-picked grapes. This is followed by a fruity acidity, and no oak, resulting in a good mouthfeel to be enjoyed now. Los Poetas Semillón is an elegant and approachable wine, making it ideal to accompany simple food.
£9.95
Drought resistant Grenache Blanc vines thrive in Swartland’s granite-rich, sandy soils resulting in this fresh and expressive style. Ripe, peachy aromas on the nose, gently spicy with notes of apricot and dried mango. A pithily generous palate, full flavoured and fleshy with a crisp salinity on the finish.
£15.95
A subtle and restrained white with delicate stone fruit and lightly nutty aromas. The palate is textural with more nutty characters and good concentration, all beautifully balanced by peachy fruit, a dash of lime, and taut acidity on the finish.
£12.95
Fragrant aromas of ripe apricot and citrus and more ripe stone fruit on the palate along with a clean, saline minerality and a zesty lemon sherbert character. The style is appealingly off-dry with a well-balanced, crisp finish.

Alice is a medium-dry well-rounded cider with a moreish sharpness. At 4.6% she sits at the drier end of their core range yet is still smooth and mellow with a very slight tart finish; a result of the balanced blending of Celtic Marches homegrown cider apples. After a career in major cider manufacturing and a break to bring up her young family, Susan Vaughan decided to join her brother Robert Hancock’s back on the family farm in Bishops Frome Herefordshire. The family has been growing fruit and hops on the farm for over 100 years. Their farming roots go back deep into Mid Wales and the Welsh borders where many of their family still farm today. They are now drawing on that heritage and the abilities acquired from a history in the cider and brewing industry to produce quality ciders on the family farm.

The Wilce family have been making cider near Ledbury for at least 6 generations (albeit mostly for their own pleasure!). This long-standing family of cider makers now produce award winning premium cider and apple juice for everyone to enjoy, using fruits from their own orchards that they wash, mash and press before leaving nature to take its course with a slow, winter fermentation. After roughly six months, Brian Wilce, their very own Master cider maker, blends by taste before each cider is bottled or bagged. Wilces avoid using chemicals, added yeast and added water in their full strength products, and nor do they add sulphites choosing instead to use only those naturally occuring in the apples. Wilce’s cider is refeshingly traditional and has the unique PGI (Protected Geographical Indicator) classification for Herefordshire ciders. That’s the ultimate in provenance!
